Manny Pacquiao defeated Keith Thurman by a 113-114, 115-112, 115-112 split decision Saturday night at the MGM Grand Garden to win the WBA super welterweight title before an announced sellout crowd of 14,356.
The 40-year-old Pacquiao (62-7-2, 39 knockouts)dropped the 30-year-old Thurman (29-1, 22 KOs) in the first round with a flush right hook and showcased his timeless speed and quickness against the younger, fresher fighter for 12 rounds.
